Real Time Solving is one of FlopHero’s most powerful features for river analysis. Instead of relying on pre-solved databases, it calculates GTO strategy on the spot for any river card you choose. This gives you accurate, on-demand solutions for nearly every river scenario you’ll encounter.

How It Works

When you select a river card in the Strategies section, FlopHero’s solver runs instantly and computes the optimal strategy in real time. It doesn’t retrieve results from a preset library. It actively solves the situation while you watch.

This means you can study any river, even unusual or rare runouts that most solvers skip. You’re free to explore any scenario by setting it up through Game Configuration.

The solver calculates the full game tree for that exact river card, considering both players’ ranges, pot size, stack depth, and board texture. The result is a complete GTO solution tailored to your specific spot.

Speed

Real Time Solving is designed for quick feedback. Simple river spots solve in around 0.2 seconds. More complex situations, like multiway pots or detailed textures, may take up to 6 seconds.

That’s fast enough for efficient study without long waits, giving you near-instant access to reliable GTO output. You’re not sitting around for minutes waiting on results. You get near-instant access to the GTO river strategy you need.

This speed makes it practical to test multiple river cards in a row. You can see how strategy shifts when a flush completes versus when a blank falls, all within seconds.

Bet Sizing

Real Time Solving gives you full control over bet sizing. You can use automatic bet sizing, where the solver selects logical sizes based on board texture and stack depth, or you can customize bet sizes to test how strategy changes with different sizings.

To customize bet sizes, click the Customize button in the River actions panel. You can set specific bet sizes for both out-of-position and in-position players, as well as raise sizes. This lets you match real hands or test unconventional sizing strategies.

The automatic sizes are chosen to represent typical PLO Cash game scenarios. They’re based on what works well in practice and what the solver finds most effective. But having the flexibility to customize means you can study any sizing you want.

Accuracy

FlopHero’s river solver operates at under 0.4% exploitability, extremely low for PLO. Exploitability measures how much extra EV a perfect opponent could gain by exploiting your strategy. Lower numbers mean closer alignment with true GTO.

It’s also great for scenario testing. Swap river cards to see how GTO adapts across different runouts. This flexibility helps you understand how board texture and card distribution shift strategic ranges.

You can review results through Range View, Matrix View, or the Hand Categories panel for a complete breakdown of optimal play. Each view gives you a different perspective on the same solution.

Current Limitations

Currently, Real Time Solving supports river-only decisions. Solving for flops and turns requires significantly more computational power because of the exponential growth of the decision tree.

Even so, the river remains the most valuable street for GTO work. It’s where pots are largest and EV differences matter most. Having instant solver access to river spots gives you a meaningful edge in post-session study and pattern recognition.

Many players make their biggest mistakes on the river. Bet sizing errors, incorrect value betting frequencies, and poor bluff selection all add up to massive EV losses. Real Time Solving helps you fix those mistakes at the source.
